Planning For Your Care
Consultations and In-Room Procedures
Appointments in the consulting rooms may include:
- Initial consultations
- Review consultations
- Minor procedures (such as device insertions, biopsies, ultrasound, or colposcopy)
GP Referral
With a valid referral from your GP or another specialist, you may be eligible for a rebate from Medicare Australia. Medicare rebates typically cover only part of the total fee, meaning there is usually an out-of-pocket expense.
Referral Validity
Referral validity periods apply (for example, most GP referrals are valid for 12 months, and specialist referrals for 3 months), so please ensure your referral is current at the time of your appointment.
Estimates
Our team can provide an estimate of consultation fees prior to your visit. Written financial consent information is also provided as part of your registration process.

Please contact the rooms if you have questions about a specific procedure.
Our aim is to make this process as clear and straightforward as possible.
Surgical Procedures and Hospital Care
If surgery or a hospital procedure is recommended, treatment costs are usually shared between Medicare, your private health insurer (if applicable), and you.
Depending on your circumstances, expenses may include:
- Surgeon’s fees
- Assistant surgeon fees (if required)
- Anaesthetist fees
- Hospital accommodation and theatre fees
- Pathology or imaging costs
Even with private health insurance, there is often a gap payment. If you do not have private health insurance, a full quote for anticipated costs will be provided before you make any decisions.
You will receive a detailed written estimate as part of the informed financial consent process so you understand all expected costs in advance.
Private Health Insurance
Private health insurance generally does not cover outpatient consultations in specialist rooms. However, it may contribute towards hospital-related costs if you undergo surgery, depending on your level of cover and excess. We recommend contacting your health fund directly to confirm your entitlements prior to any planned procedure.
Payment Information
Payment for consultations is required on the day of your appointment unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Where possible, our reception team can submit your Medicare claim electronically so your rebate is paid directly into your bank account.
Financial Hardship
We understand that healthcare costs can sometimes be challenging. If you have concerns about fees, please contact our rooms prior to your appointment to discuss your situation confidentially. Our team will work with you to provide support and guidance wherever possible.
